150mm Challenge Crab Lock

The 150mm Challenge was a project started by Hereford College of Arts. Every participant had to start with a 6 inch piece of 3/4 inch square bar. The challenge was to see what you could make using only that piece of material. I wanted to really push myself and see if I could make a lock and key.

Pieces from the 150mm Challenge have gone on a touring exhibit around Europe and is now currently traveling around the USA. As part of this exhibit, The Metal Museum will be doing a virtual reception and artist talk. I will be present and discussing my piece and answering questions. To join the event go to the Metal Museum website to register.

For more information on the 150mm Challenge, read this article from The Shire or watch this video from the Metal Museum from their exhibit reception. I was asked to participate in the reception to discuss my piece.
